8th ARENA: year 2007

In 2007 the slogan “ZGRABI” (grab it) once again accompanied the Student Arena, the eighth Arena in a row. Number eight (8) is a symbol of infinity that got tired of lying down like a child and decided to stand up. Infinity – like an ocean of knowledge, ideas and opportunity. And this is what Student Arena is all about.

The 8th Student Arena improved its existing contents with an exhibition, lectures, cultural and accompanying programme, offering the visitors a fresh new image. Organizations and companies from the fields of education and international cooperation, employment, health and security, environment protection, leisure time, and multimedia took part in the exhibition. Some non-governmental organizations, State institutions and Slovene student organizations presented their programmes as well. The exhibition spaces of the travel agency CMT, Slovenian Army, and the company Mobitel attracted the most visitors.

The educational programme included interesting subject areas. Among the visitors the education events from the fields of employment, leisure time, personality, and social and political current affairs proved to be the most popular.

The cultural programme took place on different scenes. The most crowded was the main stage which helped us entertain every one of our visitors with the variety of performances it offered:
  • dance performances: folklore groups, reggaeton, swing, salsa, belly dance, break dance, swing-salsa battle,
  • concerts: choruses, music groups,
  • theatre performances: improvisational theatre Impro liga, stand-up comedy, and
  • a number of shows: cocktail show, hair-styling show.
The accompanying programme added even more variety to the event and enriched it with the Living Library where we were breaking stereotypes, Mini Games Festival where we learned about board games, the platform for climbing and the experienced professionals from the army and police who let us admire their skills.
